And I
did get to see granddaughter Kim who is in her second year at Grinnell
College in Iowa. She and her boyfriend flew out to Hawaii for a wonderful
visit. It was nice seeing all the cousins together.

Allison turned sixteen this year and got her driver’s license. She has been waiting for this moment for years – and has turned out to be a very good driver. But this is not surprising, Allison has always been mature well beyond her age

Roxanne
is a freshman at Kapaa high school and has made the varsity Soccer team (quite
an honor). Between 5 day a week practices and games on Saturdays she is keeping
her grades up at top levels. And she even finds a little time to clean my guest
house and earn a bit of spending money.

Kaylee
is acing the fourth grade at Kilauea Elementary School. The ‘baby’ of Ruth’s
family is a baby no more. Like her sisters before her, she too plays soccer,
basketball, and is planning a tryout for volleyball.

Jared is now 7 years old and attending the 2nd grade in a target school in Hilo. He really likes the school and you can see him growing in self assurance. The school only runs 4 days a week so Debbie gets to work with him on Fridays.

And
now there are 6. Daughter Debbie gave birth to Aaron Kenji Mclean
on August 9th..
